GLATUC SUPPORTING MAYDAY
GLATUC gave full support to this year’s Mayday march and rally despite the sad loss of Roger Sutton in November 2024. DISABILITY AND WELFARE CUTS
London trades councils and GLATUC have supported the campaign to oppose cuts to PIP and other welfare benefits. GLATUC invited a representative from DPAC to speak at the Mayday rally and updated delegates on their campaign at a recent GLATUC meeting.
THE RISE OF THE FAR RIGHT
The wave of racism in the UK has been driven by the use of racist and xenophobic rhetoric evident in the increase support for Reform UK. Trades councils deplore the Labour Government’s approach to asylum seekers. They have been campaigning against the far right wherever it appears and are concerned that attacks by the far right against asylum seekers housed in hotels is spreading.
