TRADES COUNCILS OUT SUPPORTING LONDON BUS WORKERS

Over the last few months Trades Councils have been supporting action by London bus workers over attacks on their pay and conditions and cuts. After praising bus workers for their keeping the service going despite the death toll from Covid of over 52 drivers, employers have been seeking to impose various cuts and new practices. GLATUC gave full support to this year’s London May Day. It was represented on the London May Day bus that travelled around the capital playing trade union songs and adorned with banners. GLATUC had also contributed to the video show on the London May Day site which is still running. Several Trades Councils held their own local celebrations as well.
